Response of Natural Enemies toward Selective Chemical Insecticides; Used for the Integrated Management of Insect Pests in Cotton Field Plots

چکیده

Sucking pests of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L), such as thrips, or Thrips tabaci Lindeman, and jassid, Amrasca biguttula Ishida, are among the most threatening insect to young plants in Pakistan. New chemical insecticides have been trialed control their damage commercial fields. Formulations that show good suppression these pest’s populations, while sparing bio-controlling agents, always preferred for obtaining better crop yield. Six different commercially available insecticides, namely Fountain® (fipronil imidacloprid), Movento Energy® (spirotetramat Oshin® (dinotefuran), Concept Plus® (pyriproxyfen, fenpyroximate, acephate), Maximal® (nitenpyram), Radiant® (spinetoram) were evaluated present study shortlist best insecticide against targeted pests. Harmful impacts selected also naturally occurring predators, spiders green lacewings (Chrysoperla carnea). Energy®, respectively, at controlling thrips (with 61% 56% mortality, respectively) jassid (62% 57% populations during 2018 2019. proved itself option showed minimal harmful effects on both major arthropod predators fields i.e., 8–9% mortality) 12–16% mortality). comparatively less 15–18% towards natural predatory fauna crops, compared other selective used study. The findings current suggest judicious use target-oriented can be an efficient predator-friendly management module However, impact chemicals is depended timely application, keeping consideration ETL population beneficial arthropods.

Conservation of natural enemies in cotton: role of insect growth regulators in management of Bemisia tabaci

Field studies were conducted from 1997 to 1999 to contrast the effects of two insect growth regulators (IGRs) and conventional insecticides on natural enemy conservation in cotton within the context of alternative management strategies for Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius). Compared with an untreated control, insecticide regimes based on the initial use of the IGR buprofezin or pyriproxyfen reduced de...

Relative toxicity and residual activity of insecticides used in blueberry pest management: mortality of natural enemies.

A series of bioassays were conducted to determine the relative toxicities and residual activities of insecticides labeled for use in blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) on natural enemies, to identify products with low toxicity or short duration effects on biological control agents. In total, 14 insecticides were evaluated using treated petri dishes and four commercially available natural enemi...

Improved Conservation of Natural Enemies with Selective Management Systems for Bemisia tabaci (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) in Cotton*

A large-scale study was conducted in 1996 to evaluate and demonstrate strategies for pest management of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) in cotton involving different insecticide regimes, application methods, and action thresholds. Here we examined the effects of the various management systems on the abundance and activity of native natural enemies. Population densities of 18 out of 20 taxa of arthro...

The response of natural enemies to selective insecticides applied to soybean.

Natural enemies of the invasive pest Aphis glycines Matsumura can prevent its establishment and population growth. However, current A. glycines management practices include the application of broad-spectrum insecticides that affect pests and natural enemies that are present in the field at the time of application. An alternative is the use of selective insecticides that affect the targeted pes...
